Over the past 50 years, The Musical Museum has been run almost entirely by volunteers. We are extremely grateful to our volunteers for this invaluable support. We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds and expertise.
We are a friendly bunch- who have been shortlisted for the 2017 Museum and Heritage volunteer of the year team award! We enjoy regular gettogethers and offer a great working environment. Call for further details.
Current Volunteering Vacancies
General accounts assisitant to help with weekly accounts, one day per week preferably with sage experience.

The museum requires volunteer receptionists to cover reception duties. Tasks include meeting and greeting visitors, sales of tickets (face to face and over the phone), looking after the shop and operating the till. Applicants would need to be able to work independently without supervision after initial training.
Volunteer Tour Guides
The museum runs a programme of guided tours and we require enthusiastic and entertaining tour guides to demonstrate and talk about the instruments. Ability to learn and relay stories & information is essential. Training from one of the museum's trusted guides will be provided.

Administration Assistants, Events Assistants, Gardeners, Event Stewards, General Maintenance Person, Audio Visual Assistants, Conservationists
All new volunteers are interviewed and if accepted, initially employed on a trial basis. Full training and support is given. The Museum operates an equal opportunities policy in terms of age, sex, ethnicity, sexual orientation and disability.
