Barrel Organ

Self-playing musical instrument consisting of bellows and one or more ranks of pipes housed in a case, with a barrel or drum fitted with pins or staples which as the drum revolves, open the valves to play the pipes. Usually the instrument was portable and powered by a hand crank turned by the operator who had rented the instrument for the day.
