Second touch

Any links below to external sites are offered for your convenience but the Musical Museum neither endorses the sites nor vouches for the accuracy of their content.

A feature invented by Robert Hope-Jones which allows one registration to sound on an organ when a key on a manual is gently depressed, and a further registration to be added when the key is pressed further. Only possible using electro-pneumatic control pioneered by Hope-Jones.

Sometimes known as double touch.
